FATHER, SON AND HOLY GHOST
A common thing that happens throughout the Church’s history is that wrong “Doctrine” is sown by the enemy into the Church every generation and it takes the “Truth” to counteract it and to set the Church free:
John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
So, what wrong “Doctrine” must we deal with in our generation? It is a doctrine that teaches Christians that the “Godhead” is not (3) separate and distinct persons known as the “Holy Trinity”. This wrong doctrine that teaches against the “Holy Trinity” is the “Oneness Doctrine” and it is taught in a number of Christian Church Denominations around the world today. I am not going to go much into depth of the “Oneness Doctrine”, however, I will say those that believe this wrong doctrine say that Jesus Christ is the only “real” person of the Godhead. The “Oneness Doctrine” maintains that God exists in only (2) modes, one as God the Father in Heaven and as Jesus the son on Earth and believe that they are the same person and not (2) separate persons of the Godhead. They also don’t regard the Holy Spirit at all and believe he is just the manifestation of the power of Jesus which is bizarre to say the very least. The reason I say that this is bizarre is because the Holy Spirit was actually sent to Jesus while he was on earth so how could the Holy Spirit have been the manifestation of Jesus’ power when Jesus had to also receive the Holy Spirit himself (Luke 3:22, Matt 3:16)? The Bible states this:
Hebrews 1:1-3
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
We see that God the Father made the worlds by his son, Jesus Christ so the question arises, why would God the Father become Jesus Christ just to make the worlds if he could of just made them himself without changing his identity like a suit of clothes?
The next scripture we have to look at is:
Heb 1:3
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
If Jesus Christ is God the Father, than why does God the Father sit down next to himself as Jesus Christ? This makes absolutely no sense and why would God the Father create himself to be his own son and send himself as his only begotten son to save the world? A son indicates an offspring or creation:
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Definition of Begotten - brought into existence by or as if by a parent
Why would the “Oneness” believe that Jesus Christ is the only real person of the Godhead when John 3:16 plainly states that God the Father sent his only begotten Son? God the Father would not of said his “son” if he was talking about sending himself! Furthermore, Jesus Christ died physically, however, he also died spiritually. Here is the scripture where Jesus died physically:
John 19:30
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Here is the scripture where Jesus Christ died spiritually:
Matthew 27:46
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
We realize by scripture that separation from God the Father is considered death (Rev 21:8) and it is called the “Second Death” because the “First Death” is when the fleshly body dies. The “Second Death” is eternal by the fact that a “person or living being” is separated forever from God the Father and since God is a provider of “life” than being separated from him forever separates us from “life”!
John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Remember what the scripture says is that we must be renewed daily (Titus 3:3) by this “life” substance or else death is always present. I am not talking about the fleshly body being able to walk, talk, eat, breathe, etc but I am speaking about a life source that is eternal so we can refer to anybody not possessing “Salvation” through Jesus Christ as the walking dead. It is our inward “Spirit Man” that is renewed daily (2 Cor 4:16) even as our outward man perishes, however, this renewing will spill over onto our fleshly body giving us benefits that we would of not otherwise had without this “renewing life giving substance” like Rom 8:11 says:
Romans 8:11
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
So when Jesus made the statement in Matt 27:46 saying “My God, my God why has thou forsaken me”, Jesus was indicating what was happening at that very moment when God the Father separated from him which was the “Second Death”.
So, if God the Father was Jesus Christ according to the “Oneness Doctrine”, how could he have cried out about being “forsaken” or separated from God the Father, if he was God the Father? He could not of separated from himself and furthermore, if you die physically and spiritually, who will resurrect you if you are one and the same person? Without the “Resurrection” of Jesus Christ, there would of been no “Salvation” for men and no High Priest making intercession for us. Also, if God the Father was dying on the cross, who was in charge of all of Creation, who was in charge of Heaven and Earth, who was holding back the Hordes of Darkness while this was going on? If Jesus Christ was not his own person than why would he have said this:
Luke 23:46
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
If Jesus was God the Father, why would he commend his own spirit back to himself if he already possessed it? Furthermore, wasn’t Jesus Christ resurrected from the dead?
Luke 24:6
He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
When Jesus Christ died and if he also was God the Father, than I say again, who would of raised Jesus from the dead?
Before Jesus died, he prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane to God the Father:
Luke 22:42
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
Again, why would God pray to himself as he could of just done it himself and would not of needed to ask himself for help? Furthermore, if Jesus Christ was God the Father then he would not of been man as God the Father is not man and never will be because Jesus Christ was made man. And if Jesus Christ was God the Father then the scripture would of been lying when it said that Jesus was tempted in all points like we are:
Hebrews 4:15
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Yet the Word of God says that God cannot be tempted nor does he tempt us:
James 1:13
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
This means that Jesus Christ was not God the Father otherwise he could not of been tempted as the scripture does not lie. However, Hebrews 4:15 specifically states that Jesus was tempted so is the scripture contradicting itself? Absolutely not, however, what it does reveal is that Jesus Christ was not God the Father because he could not of been tempted but Jesus Christ could be tempted. As Jesus was specifically anointed to be tempted for our sakes so Glory be to God the Father for allowing this temptation to happen.
We further see in the scripture below that Jesus Christ was not Father God:
Hebrews 2:6
But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
God the Father is eternal and has no beginning and no ending therefore he is not the “son of man” nor could he be, however, Jesus Christ does have a beginning which is when he became man. Jesus Christ was born of woman, however, God the Father had no birth and is the son of no one!
God the Father is not a priest and will never be a priest, however, Jesus Christ is a “High Priest” and is appointed by God the Father to be our High Priest:
Hebrews 5:5
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
Hebrews 6:20
Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
So, we can rest assured that God the Father never became a man nor did he send himself as Jesus Christ. However, God the Father sent his only son who is another individual of the Godhead to be an eternal sacrifice for us so that we also could through him obtain Eternal Life and Salvation.
By careful studying of the Word of God, we see through scripture that the Godhead does not consist of just one person but (3) distinct persons, The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost. And we see in the scripture below the identity of the person of the Holy Ghost:
John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
If the “Oneness Doctrine” states that the Holy Ghost is just the manifestation of the power of Jesus Christ and not an “individual” then why would scripture say “he” was sent by Jesus Christ from the Father and that he proceedeth from “The Father” not from Jesus? Why would scripture identify the Holy Ghost as “he” which means an individual.
Definition of Proceed - to come forth from a source.
Within the definition of “Proceed” and reading the Holy Scriptures, we see that the source of the “Comforter” (Holy Ghost) is from the Father and not a manifestation of power from Jesus as the “Oneness Doctrine” states.
John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
If the Holy Ghost is neither a person of the Godhead nor an individual but just the manifestation of power of Jesus Christ than how do we answer this scripture?
Acts 5:3
But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
This scripture indicates that the Holy Ghost was more than just merely a manifestation of Jesus’ power but he is clearly an identifiable person of the Godhead, otherwise how could you lie to a “manifestation” which is just an expression?
Definition of Manifestation -a perceptible outward, or visible expression.
According to the definition above, an “expression” is not an individual and therefore you cannot lie to it so we must clearly admit that the Holy Ghost is an individual and also a person of the Godhead!
Acts 13:2
As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
How can a manifestation and a non-individual according to the “Oneness Doctrine” have legal binding authority? It can’t, however, the Holy Spirit is a legal individual that is part of the Godhead and therefore can make legal decisions for the work of the Kingdom of God like he did with Barnabas and Saul.
Matthew 12:32
And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
If the Holy Ghost was just a manifestation with no identity or merely just an “expression” than how can you speak against him and there be no forgiveness in this world nor the world to come for just speaking against an “expression”? That’s because you would be speaking against an individual of the Godhead who is meant to dwell with you forever and this is why it is so serious. This is one of the most scary and dangerous scriptures in the Bible because it indicates a loss of “Salvation”! St. John 14:16 states he will be with you forever, so if you lose him then you lose everything! Matt 12:32 is a “sin unto death” (1 John 5:16) which there is no coming back from.
Ephesians 4:30
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Again, if the “Oneness Doctrine” states that the Holy Ghost is not an individual but just a “manifestation” of the power of Jesus Christ than how can you grieve a “non-individual” or grieve an “expression”? You can’t, however, you can grieve an individual which the Holy Ghost is!
All these scriptures I have presented distinctly show that there are (3) separate individuals to the Godhead which make up the Holy Trinity and each is represented specifically and differently within the Word of God. This book is meant to shine the light of God’s Word and Truth on every “Doctrine of Devils” present in our day and age and I pray that the “Truth sets you free”!
