The Ten VIrgins
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. Matthew 25:1-13
The Parable of the Ten Virgins is one of the most used, abused, and misused scriptures for describing or announcing the Rapture, however, it is not speaking of the Rapture. It is speaking about every generation from Christ until this present day where there is a certain number of Christians (Ten Virgins) that are asleep and not in the true move or flow of the Spirit. They are not asleep in the fashion of going to bed every night to rest but they are asleep in the Word and Spirit of God
A Parable is actually a calendar of time and deals with two things. It deals with the end of a generation which happens every 100 years and also deals with the final end of the world as we know it. At any given time, there are Christians asleep and they miss the move of God in their generation (every 100 years). This Parable explains that these Christians awake to find God moving when they are not prepared. God does a harvest of the Sons of God every generation from the many Sons that are not asleep and who are constantly ready for the harvest. The harvest is the work that God wants done in that generation which is working in the Kingdom of God and spreading of the Gospel.
This Parable only deals with Christians that are asleep and please realize that God has many Christians not asleep because the angels present will not allow them to fall asleep. In addition to this, God has at any given time 7,000 Prophets that have not bowed their knees to baal (other gods). These Prophets are always awake and working in the flow of the Spirit which is the move of God already going in each generation throughout the world. The Ten Virgins being “asleep” meant they were not in this move of God that was already in motion. The Lord is with these prophets all the time, not just at the door but really actually with these prophets, walking with them constantly.
Now, let's deal with what has put these Christians to sleep? As we examine each generation from Christ until now, it ultimately leads us to look at the doctrine being preached in every one of these generations. And the number one factor that is putting these Christians to sleep is the word being preached with no anointing and no spirit present! The word that is being preached then and in this day and time is the false doctrine of buying your way into the inheritance.
This means that there are many preachers selling the word of God and the revelation they have received for a profit. By these preachers selling the Gospel, they are heaping money upon themselves and causing many Christians to try and enter into their inheritance out of season. These Christians being out of season, receive knowledge and revelation that they do not understand because it was sold to them. This means these Christians obtained the revelation by those preachers that sold it to them, however, they have no understanding of the truth of it because they bought it and did not earn it through Jesus Christ. As Christians, we have to watch who we obtain our revelation from and who sets it into motion because God will not talk to you beyond your growth rate.
You are set into the inheritance by a Minister, however, you will not be set into your inheritance if this Minister is not recognized by Jesus Christ because he or she is not called of God and not qualified nor anointed to do so and you may find that they very well may have bought the Word of God themselves. Or you may not be in the proper season to partake of those blessings that you are buying illegally out of season. Hustling preachers are using the kingdom to take your money and then sell you that which cannot be legally bought. Eventually, this will bring Justice and Judgment of the Kingdom into motion.
Those preachers selling the Gospel, are now taking and reaping those Christian’s rewards (ie: money, gifts, etc.) and this scripture now takes effect “Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown!” (Rev 3:11). Also, another Scripture comes in that says this: “The Kingdom of Heaven suffereth violence and the violent take it by force!” (Matt 11:12).
In Matt 25:11, this is why the five foolish virgins could not get in the door with Jesus because they were out of time and season, not truly earning the right to enter into their inheritance, because they had not worked through the first five doors of the Kingdom legally and had bought their way in, therefore Jesus Christ did not accept them in. You cannot physically buy your way into anything with God but must spiritually buy your way with your time and your soul. “Some” of these preachers selling the “Oil” (Gospel), are false teachers, false prophets, ministers of satan. Others ministers have strictly made a business out of selling that which is not for sale (Acts 18-24). And unfortunately “some” of these are good ministers that just don’t know any better!
This same spirit was also present when Jesus made a whip to chase men out of the temple for selling merchandise while tossing over the money exchangers tables, driving them all out of the temple along with that hustling spirit (St. John 2:15).
These particular Preachers are using the truth to hustle and they become workers of iniquity (when the truth becomes iniquity). These are the False Prophets, False Christs and False Teachers who are doing miracles, signs and wonders and are men holding the light (Truth) in darkness for self gain.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; (Rom 1:18)
This influence by the False Prophets, False Christs and False Teachers is talked about in the Scriptures below:
- O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? Gal 3:1
- For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. 2 Cor 11:4
- And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? Luke 6:39
Here is the sleepiness of the Ten Virgins spoken about in scripture:
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thess 2:11-12
The problem in this generation today, is that Jesus Christ is being preached as a “soft” Jesus. It is preached that you can do anything and Jesus will forgive you, that he is nothing but kindness, loving, soft, he won't punish you, and you can get away with anything and be forgiven, which is false. This rightfully falls into the category of what the Bible calls preaching another Jesus.
Now, don’t misinterpret this, Jesus died for our sins and please understand that I am not saying that Jesus doesn’t love you. However, if we sin and are forgiven, it doesn’t always mean that we won’t suffer the consequences of our sins and this is called punishment.
* As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Rev 3:19
- And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. St. John 2:13-17
- And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Acts 17:30
Now, the five foolish virgins face this same thing with the sellers hanging out around the temple. They were told by the wise virgins to go down and find the sellers of the Gospel (oil) and the sellers were waiting at the door of the temple when the virgins arrived. Selling of the Gospel was never God's will or you would not of had Jesus down at the temple whipping everybody, including the sellers and overthrowing tables. This is the Lord that I know and this is “The Fear of the Lord!”
Some would say this isn't love and this isn't the Jesus they know! Understandably, if you don't read your entire Bible and somebody preaches another Jesus to you, then confusion and false doctrine takes over. The Bible talks greatly about love and the love of Jesus on the cross (John 3:16). I agree and believe in this love, however, love only wins you over and gets you in the door, then comes the hard work if you want to become something greater in God. The true reality really hits home when God Almighty says that “who he loves, he rebukes and Chastens” (Rev 3:19).
Here are the dictionary definitions of Rebuke and Chasten:
- Rebuke: expressed sharp disapproval or criticism of (someone) because of their behavior or action:
- Chasten: discipline; punish.
Written in black and white, this is exactly what these words (rebuke and chasten) mean and God himself said he would do this to those who he loves.
I understand firsthand as a Pastor what this means and it can be difficult to swallow but would you rather that I lied to you and let you believe a lie and be damned (2 These 2:12). That is why there are Christians asleep and why they miss the move of God.
Subsequently, now you understand the shock to these sleeping Christians when they are awakened and quickly put into a move of the Spirit which becomes a great shock to them. What they thought to be the truth turned out to be a lie and they are not prepared for this move of God.
Before I end, I want you to know that this parable is also describing one of the appearings of Jesus Christ. It does not say that the five wise virgins are raptured out of this world into Heaven but it shows that they are still on Earth when they go in with the bridegroom. It further proves that when the five wise virgins tell the five foolish virgins to go buy more oil from the sellers, that they are still on Earth otherwise they could not of gone to buy more oil.
In addition, the five foolish virgins go to the door and knock and Jesus himself answers the door which means they are still in this world and that the door is on Earth. He then tells them, “I don’t know you!” The five wise virgins going in through the door and it being closed is the sealing of the Sons of God and is a harvest of those Sons that missed the move of God while still on Earth. There is always a remnant that is not asleep:
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 1 Corinthians 15:51
The Parable of the Ten Virgins is not about the remnant of the Sons of God that are always awake and waiting for the Lord but it is about those that are still asleep! Amen.
