THE SONSHIP MESSAGE
John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
We as Christians find ourselves focusing on the “Salvation” we received through Jesus Christ constantly and that is a great and mighty thing, however, once a Christian obtains Salvation, the question becomes, where does he or she go from there? As a Christian, we started at Salvation and know that it was free and we did absolutely no labour for it but it was a gift from God to us who believed and accepted it.
Ephesians 2:8
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Titus 3:5
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
So, now what? Are we waiting to go to heaven and just abiding our time? And if this be the case, than where do we place the following scriptures:
Hebrews 6:1
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God.
John 14:12
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
I hope I have your attention now that you have read these scriptures because they point to a work beyond just being saved and going to Heaven. In fact, these scriptures scare a lot of Christians because they have no idea what to do with them nor how to begin to understand what they mean.
How can you leave Jesus Christ? The scripture doesn’t say to leave Jesus Christ but to leave the principles of the doctrine of Christ and it says this in black and white within your Bible (KJV).
Principles defined out of the Webster’s Dictionary means this:
1 a fundamental truth or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behavior or for a chain of reasoning: the basic principles of Christianity.
So, why does our Bible say to leave the Principles of the Doctrine of Christ? Because the scripture is indicating for you to leave the basics of your first teaching and understanding which is “Salvation” and the “Cross Message”. We don’t leave our first love Jesus Christ but we look at the basics of Christianity that urged us and persuaded us to accept Jesus Christ as our Personal Savior and now we put that to the side since we are now saved and just protect it. However, we can only get saved once and since we have already arrived at Salvation, what does God want us to do now? Do we sit around Church and preach Salvation to everyone in the Church who is already saved? Doesn’t make much sense to do that if everybody in your Church is already saved, does it? If everybody in your Church is saved than there is no more fruit coming off that tree so something else has to be done in order to obtain more fruit from God and for God.
Are you getting the message now, that once we are saved, the Bible is telling us to go on to something greater which is the work of God and his Commission.
Hebrews 6:1 is saying just this and the next scripture that you read above in John 14:12, Jesus himself is telling us that we have a potential in God that is almost unfathomable and that is, to do just as Jesus Christ did on this Earth, however, the scripture than takes it one step further and says that we shall do “greater works” than Jesus Christ himself did?
I know that I lost some of you right there but did I quote the scripture wrong or did Jesus Christ himself actually say those exact words to every Christian believer that reads the Bible. If you are having trouble swallowing this scripture than let me lay another scripture on you and go one step even further:
John 21:25
25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
I am sorry, I didn’t mean to overwhelm you because if you thought just doing greater works than Jesus according to what you have read in your Bible was the entire picture and that was your limit, well I think I just pulled all the limits out from under your feet by adding this scripture. What this scripture in John 21:25 is saying is that there were a lot more things that Jesus did that are not even recorded in our Bible and guess what, the scripture in John 14:12 is also pointing to those things that Jesus did that are not recorded in our Bible and “we shall do greater works than these”.
I know, you are still trying to just believe that God is real and you also may be trying to believe that you are still even saved never mind getting to the point of doing what Jesus Christ did.
I understand and have been where you are, however, when I finally woke up and realized that we were called to be much greater than just lowly sinners saved by grace, it is then that I stepped out of the prison that Jesus Christ himself spoke of:
Isaiah 61:1
1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me;
because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
If you or I were so worthless, why did God send his only Begotten Son for a sacrifice for us to be saved? Was this just so we could hang around Heaven’s Door, hoping that it would be open long enough for us to sneak in before the Devil knew what was happening. No, absolutely not, God almighty sent his only Son, Jesus Christ that we might become part of the family of God and to be heirs and joint-heirs with Christ Jesus:
Romans 8:17
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
This means, if you or I are a joint-heir with Christ, than we are standing on the same ground and with the same rights as Jesus Christ. We are not Jesus Christ and he is our Lord and Saviour, however, the scripture says that we stand equal with him as heirs, just as this scripture says.
Galatians 4:6
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Are you starting to get the message of what Hebrews 6:1 was saying to us which is that we have to get past the beginning which is our Salvation in order to see our future! We are much higher in stature with God than just lowly sinners, who are just barely saved by grace but we were interwoven into the fabric of the Kingdom of Christ as essential parts of the future of God and what he is doing in his creation.
God had to do something to get us through the door if you will and that was Salvation, however, he never expected us to just stand there and do nothing but he put us into the position of being part of the household of God. The Apostle Paul himself said this personally:
Philippians 2:5
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
This means that God wants to give us the same exact “mind” that was in Jesus Christ. This “Mind of Christ” is given to us to think and act just like Jesus Christ did and Jesus thought it not robbery to be equal with God. If we are given the same exact mind……what are we supposed to think also?
The Jews sought to kill Jesus for making himself equal with God in St. John 5:18 by calling God his Father, even though “we” know that Jesus was God manifested in the flesh. However, that still didn’t change the fact that they still wanted to kill Jesus for saying it and did not believe that he was the Son of God. Now, we know that Jesus called God his Father and than in turn the scripture states that God is our Father also in this scripture:
John 1:12
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
You are not Fatherless if you are a “Son” of someone and here the Apostle John states that as many as received him, he gave them power to be the “Sons of God”. This means when you accept Jesus Christ and are saved, than your spirit is recreated by God and you are no longer born of man but your spirit is born of God:
John 1:13
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 1:13
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
What the Apostle John was stating, is that we were forcibly placed into the Godhead because never before had a man been part of the Godhead. The Godhead had always been: The Father, The Eternal Christ (the Word) and the Holy Spirit. But now the Godhead was changed when the Eternal Christ became man as Jesus Christ which now put a man into the Godhead which had never been before. Jesus Christ is the God man.
Now, man is represented in Heaven by Jesus Christ as he himself became man and folks, if we don’t change the meaning of the scripture above (John 1:13) out of fear or believing we are unworthy, than this changes the entire meaning of what we actually are in the sight of God.
If we be the Sons of a Living God as the scripture says than we have power to become right here and right now on Earth, the “Sons of God” while we are still living.
If this be so, than I have a question to ask you. When a female cat gives birth, does it produce a chicken instead? When a female horse gives birth, does it give birth to a bear? When a woman has a child, does she give birth to an alligator? Are you getting the message? When a God declares you his son and we are not born of blood, nor of the will of man but of God (John 1:13) than what does that make a born again Christian? I’m sorry, what did you say? Oh, that’s right it makes your Father a God and you his son and that was why the scripture says, “I find it not robbery to be equal with God”!
Yet, you still say that you don’t believe this to be true! Ok, Jesus Christ said this himself but you want to believe it was said to somebody else or not meant for you:
2 Peter 1:3
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
So, we are given all things that pertain unto "Godliness" but you say we aren’t born of God and given the power to be his Sons. Really, than why are we given everything that pertains unto godliness if we are only lowly, unworthy sinners barely saved by grace.
Here is another scripture to nail it home for you:
Galatians 4:1
1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
The scripture plainly states that we are “Lord of All”! Here is a definition from the Webster’s Dictionary for Lord:
Lord - Someone or something having power, authority, or influence; a master or ruler:
Well, that doesn’t sound like an average Christian now does it but it sounds like someone given everything that pertains unto Godliness and given power, authority and to be a ruler or maybe it is just easier to say a “Son of God”
Maybe you need a few more scriptures because just one scripture saying that we are “The Sons of God” is just not enough for you. Ok, not a problem, here are some more scriptures for you.
1 John 3:1
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Philippians 2:15
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Romans 8:14
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Romans 8:19
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
I hope by this point you can understand that we are not lowly, barely saved Christians but that our spirits were recreated after receiving Jesus Christ as our savior and then baptized with the Holy Ghost if we are obedient. Our flesh is not born again, our flesh is not a Son of God but our recreated spirit is. We conquer our fleshly body to serve God and to make it a “Living Sacrifice”.
Romans 12:1
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Ok, I have you persuaded by the Word of God that you were born to be so much more than you ever imagined, however, you have one last hurtle in your mind and that is you are a female Christian. This has nothing to do with stopping you from being a “Son of God” as there is neither male nor female in the Kingdom of Christ because we are talking about your recreated spirit.
Galatians 3:28
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Some may say that a “Son of God” is perfect and that you are not perfect and cannot ever be perfect and I say this is wrong because this scripture already tells you that you can be perfect in this life:
Matthew 5:48
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Notice the scripture says, “your Father” which means you as a Christian “Son of God otherwise Jesus would not of called God “Your Father". This scripture means that you are getting into the realm of where the Jews wanted to kill Jesus because he called God his Father and the Jews said that was blasphemy and not true. However, Jesus turns around and says the same exact thing to us that they wanted to kill him for and that is that God is our Father and so we go right back to being his sons or “The Sons of God”!
Would God command you to be “Perfect” if you could never be perfect, of course not because that would be a command of impossibility and the scripture would be a lie, however, we know that God does not lie:
Titus 1:2
2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
God cannot lie and if you believe that and I do, than that means he tells us through scripture the "Truth" and if he said we can do something, that means it is possible. However, if you don’t want to do it, that is a whole different story but you are given the opportunity to do everything that God says you are able to do.
Ok, what does this all mean to me as a Christian now that I realize that I am a “Son of God”? I am glad that you asked this question because it point blank tells you immediately that you need an education from God. If all you ever heard was the Salvation Message (John 3:16) than you have much to learn in God because the scripture below says something key to what we are talking about.
Galatians 4:1
1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
Notice what the scripture states; “though he be Lord of all” which means you have a great and mighty “Title of Authority” as Lord of all, however, the scripture plainly states you are only a child until you know how to be “Lord of All”
Let’s go over basic knowledge right now and consider the power of being a “Son of God” and a “Lord of all”. This is a real easy and basic explanation of being Lord of All or a Son of God as we will equal this power to be the power of an explosive hand grenade.
There is a great amount of explosive power in a hand grenade and untold damage with terrible carnage can be done if that hand grenade is put into the wrong hands or given to a person with no knowledge of it’s power and destruction. A hand grenade in trained hands can wipe out your enemies or save your life, however, there is training in the military in the use of a hand grenade before it is ever used in combat.
What if this instrument of power was placed into a child’s hands, what would you imagine that might happen? A child has no idea of the grenade’s power in his or her hands and not only could they destroy themselves but destroy a lot of other people also. Do you understand this analogy? Every Christian must understand the power of being “Lord of all” or a “Son of God” before they ever step out into the field of life or onto the field of battle.
We are talking of the ability to change lives, to change time or even change the elements with this authority and power. However, it takes a “growth rate” to no longer be a child in the Knowledge of God. If you don’t believe me than read this scripture below:
Mark 11:23
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
This scripture is spoken by Jesus to the Christian believer and we know by scripture that God cannot lie, than you as a believer have to believe this scripture to be possible otherwise you would be calling God a lier! However, this scripture didn’t say it would be easy but those that achieve this power through Faith and Knowledge will do exactly what it says.
God is a God of knowledge (1 Sam 2:3) and therefore a labour by the Christian to obtain knowledge is rewarded with authority and power by anointing. This gaining of Knowledge will cause you to be placed into a given position of being of the household of God and further rights of passage will be given to you into the kingdom as a “Son of God” who knows their rights and privileges. This can only happen by obtaining Knowledge and anointing by being placed under “Governors and Tutors until the time appointed by God the Father. This is called placement into a Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit for the “Perfecting of the Saints”.
Ephesians 4:11
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Till we all come unto what? Does the scripture really say that Heaven is waiting until we all come unto the measure of Christ’s full stature? That is exactly what the scripture says, that we are being told to come unto the fulness of what Christ is! This is not blasphemy nor taking the glory of God because if that was so, than why would God personally tell us to come unto the fulness of Christ?
Hebrews 4:16
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
How do you come “boldly” unless you know your rights to appear before God and the authority given by covenant for an entrance to be ministered before our Father to obtain your needs as his Son. I am not talking about your basic needs of 3 hot meals and a cot to sleep on but the word of God says to seek earnestly the best gifts:
1 Corinthians 12:31
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
Why would the only True and Living God give us Salvation through his Son, Jesus Christ and then leave us in the field unworthy and still believing that we are nothing but sinners, unable to even look at ourselves in the mirror? Do all these scriptures not tell you that you are born to sit in “Heavenly Places”:
Ephesians 2:6
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
We were born out of iniquity and sin, not to dwell there but to go higher in Christ Jesus into our rightful positioning as his “Sons”. If we were left to be lowly sinners everyday of our lives than why did the Apostle John say this:
1 John 3:6
6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
1 John 3:9
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
These scriptures mean that we can live sin free and that we are not doomed to continue sinning, however, if we do sin, God forbid, we have an advocate in Christ Jesus to obtain forgiveness and to go on, not looking back.
Matthew 22:14
14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
Every Christian is called unto this “Sonship Message” if they will hear it and believe it, however, if they won’t hear it or believe it, than they will miss out on a tremendous amount of promises like this one:
John 12:38
38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? 39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, 40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
The “Arm of the Lord” is being revealed to you today and the question arises, will you believe the report of this message?
Hosea 4:6
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:
because thou hast rejected knowledge,
I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me:
seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God,
I will also forget thy children.
Why are God’s people being destroyed? The answer is “for lack of knowledge”! Yes, but a Christian would say: “I am saved through Jesus Christ and I am waiting to go to heaven”!
God doesn’t call us “his people” unless we are saved Christians but yet we see that “his people” even though they are saved, we still see “his people” being destroyed for lack of knowledge. If you aren’t hearing the entire message that God spoke through Jesus Christ than you are lacking and this lack of knowledge is dangerous. I know some Christians do not want to hear this but it is written in our Bible in black and white and says plainly what will happen if a Christian doesn’t get off their butt and start applying themselves to the knowledge of God. The message that is being preached to you today is that you are saved through Jesus Christ, however, it doesn’t end at “Salvation” but it is only “the beginning”!
I am going to close with this final page and it is what I have found in this generation of Christians. I walk into many Churches and there is no move of the Holy Spirit, there are no Gifts of the Spirit in operation, there are no Words of Life being preached from the pulpit and the people sitting in the pews are dying of all manner of diseases, sicknesses, cancer, diabetes, drugs, and depression?
Matthew 10:1
1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
James 5:14
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
James 5:15
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Acts 1:8
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Where did Christians lose these scriptures? Are they rejecting “the Knowledge” spoken about it (Hosea 4:6) or are they just gazing up into heaven like the men of Galilee:
Acts 1:11
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
This gazing mentality is “lack of knowledge” and it is a dangerous thing because Christians are sitting around gazing at each other and doing nothing while destruction is around them eating them alive?
But I have also seen the power in a few Churches when I walk into them and hear the Word of Life being preached from the pulpit, the Holy Spirit was moving, the Gifts of the Spirit were in operation and people were getting up out of the pews healed from cancer, diabetes, diseases, delivered from drugs and depression and the power of God rested on the people to heal them of all that plagued them. This I have seen with my own eyes and to God be the Glory! Amen. Thanks for reading.
